FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Most pitchers start between ages 7–9, but every athlete is different! The most important thing is a positive attitude and willingness to learn — we’ll adjust instruction based on age and skill level.

    • Bring your glove, water bottle, and proper athletic shoes or turf shoes. No outdoor shoes / cleats can be worn on the turf. Every pitcher must provide someone to catch for their lesson. This can be a friend, sibling, parent, teammate, etc. Note: every minor must have a waiver filled out to be in a lesson tunnel. It is strongly recommended for the catchers to wear full protective gear when catching to decrease risk of injury. Both locations offer protective gear that can be borrowed during the session if needed.

  • Coach Dana’s Lessons are two-on-one sessions which means there will be two pitchers instructed at the same time. Intern Lessons are led by trained student coaches under Dana’s mentorship. Intern Lessons are SOLO which means there will be only one pitcher instructed at a time

  • Most people do 30 minute lessons. If there are back to back 30 minute openings on the scheduler, it’s not uncommon for people to book both to make it an hour session.

  • No! Coach Dana can cater the lesson to each student's needs and both pitchers do not have to work on the same plan, drills, focus, etc.

  • If you cancel more than 24 hours in advance — no problem, no fee!

If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled lesson, you’ll be responsible for the full lesson fee unless I’m able to fill your spot with a waitlisted student.

Please note: if you cancel last-minute and I’ve already started lessons for the day, I won’t be able to check my phone or contact waitlist families — in that case, the full lesson fee still applies.

  • Most lessons are held at Dana’s private facility in Armada, MI. Coach Dana also teaches lessons out of Detroit Prospects, in Clinton Township one day a week.

  • That’s totally normal — and welcome here! We focus on fundamentals, confidence, and fun. Everyone starts somewhere, and we build from there with encouragement and clear instruction.

  • Dana’s driveway has approximately six unmarked parking spots. These spaces face north and are available for client parking.

  • Yes! Each location offers a 3rd lane (always the lane furthest to the right) to play catch, stretch, and work on spins. You are able to utilize this lane up to 10 minutes before your lesson starts. Please do not come into this lane earlier than 10 minutes before your lesson starts as it could be distracting to pitchers that are currently working with a coach. Also, be reminded that Coach Dana works with two pitchers at a time so please be courteous and allow the second pitcher to split the warm up tunnel time. Please do not warm up outside to prevent any unnecessary property damage to Dana’s facility and home, her neighbor’s property, any cars, and the Prospect’s plaza.

  • My weekly lesson spots are currently full, but I do receive cancellations each week and those openings are offered to the waitlist first. If you are hoping to move from the waitlist to the weekly schedule, I update the full schedule every six months. At that time, I review who is staying, who is leaving, and who on the waitlist is interested in a weekly spot. Movement from the waitlist is based on seniority.
